Things to do
Les Picardies is 11km from Confolens, 20km from St. Junien, 48km from Limoges, 78 km from Angouleme and 85km from Poitiers. Limoges Airport is 43km away. We are well positioned for tourism by car, motorbike and bicycle and we're surrounded by some beautiful walks.
Walking
Apart from the opportunity to explore our own 26 hectares of wilded farmland, we have two well marked public footpaths within 300 meters of the property and the local Tourist Office has detailed maps showing a multitude of scenic and enjoyable walks in the local area.
Horse riding and trekking
Surrounded, as we are, by many kilometers of public footpaths and bridleways, this area is ideal for horse riding and we are happy to provide links to reputable and reliable stables within a few minutes drive where you can arrange just an hour or two or a day's trekking.

Cycling
The gentle topography of Poitou-Charentes and the quiet backroads in our immediate vicinity makes this an ideal region for cyclists of all ages. Cycle Route 42 passe the entrance to Les Picardies. This link will connect you to a reliable and trusted local bicycle rental company.
Châteaux and places of interest
The ruined château at Saint-Germain de Confolens and the picturesque Châteaux of Rochebrune, La Rochefoucauld and Rochechouart are all open to the public and all within easy reach.

Les Picardies offers Pizza & salad at 12€ per person at our chambres d’hôtes - however, we do require at least 24 hours notice. We are also fully licensed and ask that the Chambre d'hôte guests only drink alcohol selected from our drinks menu.
We have tried most of the many restaurants in the area and we are very happy to offer recommendations - from Michelin star to a quick snack!
The Lakes of Haute Charente
The beautiful lakes of Haute-Charente are an easy distance away, offering swimming, sailing, rowing, fishing and some breathtaking walks. Some of the lakes have good restaurants and bars nearby.
Car and Bike Race Track
The circuit du Val de Vienne runs an exciting programme of events throughout the year and it is easy to get to. The 500 Ferrari contre le cancer week-end in early June is an absolute must!
